Founded in 1994 as Durham Youth Enterprose Scheme (DYES), 'Eddy People' is a programme to Engage, Divert and
Develop Young People (EDDY).
The aim of the programme is to divert young people away from crime and anti social behaviour by developing the individual’s social and citizenship skills.
To achieve its aim, EDDY uses 'a positive approach to young people' though a range of activities that include canoeing, walking, climbing, mountain biking, peer led drug and alcohol education, workshops and residential weekends.
